Are AI agents actually useful for web scraping?
Pulling data from a website sounds simple, but changing layouts, blocked requests and keeping the scraper running are the real work. The approach that saves time: let the agent write and maintain the scraper, fetch through a plain HTTP client or an official API wherever one exists, and add a check that alerts you when a layout changes instead of silently returning bad data.
