Descope launches Envoy: personal AI agents become their own identity, on Meta's protocol
Descope announced Envoy on November 4, letting businesses accept a personal AI agent as a distinct identity with scoped permissions, so an agent can browse a catalogue and place an order without access to stored payment methods. Sensitive actions need out-of-band phone approval, and agent activity is logged separately from the human account. Envoy builds on draft 0.1 of the Meta and Sierra Personal Agent Protocol from October 2026, an infrastructure step for agentic commerce.
