Meta's new ToS (effective Oct 30) lets it scrape any business user's website
An upcoming update to Meta's terms of service allows Meta or entities acting on its behalf to scrape the websites of any business using a Meta service for commercial purposes, rolling out October 30. Analysts read it as legal groundwork for web-browsing agents like Muse, with Ars Technica noting it could save Meta millions in content-licensing fees and Nieman Lab warning it may gate news organizations' audience access on letting Meta scrape them.
